ohn J. "Jack" Kiefer, MSGT, USAF retired, born June 7, 1930 to Ralph E. Kiefer and Ethel M. (Ellerman) Kiefer, left this world to be with His Lord and Savior and the angels and saints on July 26, 2011. Jack was a man of God, a proud American, and above all a devoted family man. The family motto for more than 35 years has been "We take care of our own". Jack was born and raised in Compton, CA and graduated from Compton High School in 1948. Soon after graduation, Jack enlisted in the US kmy, soon becoming a proud member of the US kmy 􀀎r Corp, which eventually became The United States 􀀎r Force. He honorably served his country as a member of the USAF for 22 years and 21 days. Following his service as a proud airman, Jack followed on his steadfast service to his beloved United States of America as a member of the United States Customs Service for over 20 years. 1¥. a man of God, Jack served his Lord as a member of the Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church for over 30 years. Jack attended daily mass, led the rosary and volunteered endlessly, later becoming a Eucharistic Minister. Jack took pride in serving the Holy Eucharist to his fellow parishioners as well as providing transportation to those who could not get to mass on their own. Jack was Man of the Year several years ago for his parish. Jack also served as a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. Once an Altar Boy, always an Altar Boy. Jack was a devoted family man. On his passing, he and devoted wife, Annie, were one week shy of their 53rd wedding anniversary. Jack is also survived by three devoted and loving children, Theresa D. (Kiefer) Pulsifer, Maj. USAF, Ret. of North Pole, AK; Jeffrey Kiefer, Kristopher L. Kiefer and his wife Connie, all of Tucson. Also remembering their grandfather with love and fond memories are four grandsons; Nicolas Fifer of NY, NY, Jakob Pulsifer of North Pole, AK, Richard Fifer and Michael Kiefer of Tucson, PZ. Numerous extended "family" throughout the Tucson comm unity will also remember Jack as a great man. A Mass of Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m ., Monday, .August 1, 2011 at St. Francis de Sales Church, 1375 S. Camino Seco, followed by a military recognition and Burial Service at the All Faiths Cemetery at 2151 S. Avenida Los Reyes. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2011, at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. Donations to the Youth Group of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Jack's name would be appreciated by all who knew Jack in his devotions to God, Country and Family. |
